Our office at 622 E 4500 South Ste 103, Salt Lake City, UT 84107, sits on 4500 South in the Murray area, which puts most of the central Salt Lake Valley inside a 15-minute drive. Wherever you're starting from, call (385) 480-0270 before you drive; Monday through Thursday, during office hours, we keep a same-day time for you. Every area listed below gets its own page: directions, the nearest ER, and what to do about a toothache on a day we're closed.
The $99 emergency exam fee is for patients paying without insurance. It covers a limited, problem-focused emergency exam and the X-ray needed to diagnose the tooth. Treatment is priced separately and quoted to you in writing before any work starts.

What stays the same no matter where you're coming from
You call first, wherever you start. The phone team takes your details and holds a same-day time during office hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday; Thursday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM). If you call after hours, on a Friday or over the weekend, a real person still answers and holds the next office morning's first opening. Walk-ins aren't accepted.
At the visit, the exam and X-ray come first, then the diagnosis, then a written price before any treatment. For patients paying without insurance that exam and X-ray is $99. We're in network with Delta Dental Premier, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Utah, SelectHealth and Cigna, and we submit out-of-network claims for most other plans. The cost and insurance page explains all of it, and how the call-first system works is covered on the same-day dentist page.
For spreading swelling, trouble breathing or swallowing, or bleeding that won't stop, go to the nearest emergency room before calling us. For Murray, Midvale, Taylorsville and South Salt Lake that's usually Intermountain Medical Center on State Street at 5300 South; for Holladay, Millcreek and Cottonwood Heights it's usually St. Mark's Hospital on 1200 East near 3900 South. A Utah emergency room deals with the infection or the injury; the tooth itself still comes to us afterward.
