Our office sits on 4500 South, a block east of State Street, inside Murray itself. Starting near Murray Park, you're looking at roughly one mile and a drive of three to six minutes; most of 84107 and 84123 isn't much farther out. One call to (385) 480-0270 before you head out is all it takes for our dentists to set a room aside. Same-day emergency appointments run Monday through Wednesday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with Thursday ending at noon.
With no insurance, the bill for the exam and its X-ray is $99.
The $99 emergency exam fee is for patients paying without insurance. It covers a limited, problem-focused emergency exam and the X-ray needed to diagnose the tooth. Treatment is priced separately and quoted to you in writing before any work starts.
Same-day appointments · $99 exam + X-ray · Phones answered 24/7 · In network with four major plans
How far is our office from Murray?
Not far at all, because we're in it. Our address is 622 E 4500 South Ste 103, Salt Lake City, UT 84107, on the south side of 4500 South between State Street and 700 East. Murray Park, the Murray Park Amphitheater, Murray City Hall, the Murray Theater, the Murray North TRAX station and Mick Riley Golf Course all sit within about a mile.

From the park side of town the drive takes three to six minutes when traffic is normal.
Same-day emergency dental care for Murray patients
The system is simple. You call, we hold a same-day time during office hours, and when you arrive a room and a dentist are ready. We don't accept walk-ins; the call is what sets aside the chair.
Thursday is a half day, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The other office days, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, run 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Call during those windows and the front desk books the time directly. Call outside them and a live answering service takes your name, number and what's hurting, then holds the next office day's first opening. The same-day dentist page explains what "today" means depending on when you call.
What to do about a weekend or evening toothache in Murray
Our office is closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and the chairs are empty after 5:00 PM Monday through Wednesday and after noon on Thursday. The phone is a different story. It's answered 24/7, by the front desk during hours and otherwise by a live answering service. Call the minute the pain starts. Whoever picks up notes the problem and puts you into the first open slot; after a weekend, that slot is Monday at 8:00 AM.
Some problems can't wait for Monday. A swollen face that's climbing toward your eye or sinking toward your neck belongs in a hospital emergency room now. So does breathing or swallowing that's getting harder, and bleeding pressure won't stop. For Murray residents the closest is Intermountain Medical Center, on State Street at 5300 South, about two miles south of our office. An emergency room in Utah will treat the spreading infection, the facial injury or the bleeding; it won't pull the tooth or do a root canal. Call us about the tooth once you're out.
What an emergency dental visit costs for Murray patients
If you have no dental plan, the exam and the X-ray together are $99, and that's the diagnosis. Anything the tooth needs beyond that carries its own price, put on paper before our dentists start.
Four major dental plans have us in network; the cost and insurance page names them. Carry one of those and we bill the plan for your exam and X-ray. With a different plan you're most likely out of network, though we still file the claim for you. Treatment itself can go on cash, a credit card, CareCredit financing, or credit union financing for larger treatments. A larger bill can sometimes be split into payments; ask on the phone.

Emergency dental services for Murray families
Everything on this list is done in our 4500 South office. Toothache relief starts with finding the cause, not just numbing it, and a dental abscess gets drained and treated in the same chair. When a tooth is too far gone, emergency tooth extraction takes it out the same day; when it can be saved, an emergency root canal does that instead. A broken or chipped tooth from a slip on winter ice gets rebuilt with bonding, a filling or a crown. Lost a filling or crown while eating? The lost filling or crown page explains what to do before you get here.
Our service area page covers Murray and seven other neighborhoods; Millcreek, Midvale and Taylorsville each get their own.
Frequently asked questions
Calling from Murray, how quickly will I be seen?
Today, if you call while the office is open: Monday through Wednesday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, or Thursday before noon. A same-day appointment gets held in your name. We don't take walk-ins, so call (385) 480-0270 first; the room is ready when you pull in.
My tooth started hurting Thursday afternoon. Is anyone there?
No one is chairside; the office closes at noon on Thursday and the next clinical morning is Monday. The phone is still answered, though. A live person writes down your details and holds Monday's 8:00 AM opening. Swelling heading toward the eye or neck, or a throat that's getting hard to swallow with, means Intermountain Medical Center on State Street at 5300 South, not a wait.
My child chipped a tooth at Murray Park. Can you see them today?
Yes, as long as the office is open. Call first and let us know how old your child is and how the chip happened; we'll hold a same-day time. Bring any broken-off piece in a small container. The park is about a mile from our door.
