Millcreek to our chair is about three road miles, most of it on 700 East. Leave from the Millcreek Common area, roll south past 3900 South, turn right on 4500 South, and six to ten minutes later, traffic permitting, you're in our lot. One thing to do before you drive: call (385) 480-0270. That call is how our dentists set aside a same-day time and a room for you.
If you're uninsured, the emergency exam plus its X-ray runs $99.
The $99 emergency exam fee is for patients paying without insurance. It covers a limited, problem-focused emergency exam and the X-ray needed to diagnose the tooth. Treatment is priced separately and quoted to you in writing before any work starts.
Same-day appointments · $99 exam + X-ray · Phones answered 24/7 · In network with four major plans
How far is our office from Millcreek?
About three miles, depending on where in Millcreek you start. We're at 622 E 4500 South Ste 103, Salt Lake City, UT 84107, on the south side of 4500 South between State Street and 700 East, in the Murray area. Millcreek's 84106 and 84107 zip codes border us; Lincoln Park and Granite Park Junior High sit at the near end.

From the east side of Millcreek, around 1300 East and Richmond Street, the drive still lands between six and ten minutes. Head west on 3900 South or 3300 South until you hit 700 East, then it's a straight run south.
Same-day emergency dental care for Millcreek patients
Here's how a visit comes together.
You call. During office hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday; Thursday mornings, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM) the front desk answers and holds a same-day appointment. We don't take walk-ins; the call is what gets a dentist ready for you.
You arrive. Parking is on site, and the room is already set up.
You get answers. Our dentists look at the tooth, take the X-ray, and explain what's wrong and what the options are. Most emergency treatment can start in the same appointment once you've agreed to the written price. The same-day dentist page has more on how the call-first system works.
What to do about a weekend or evening toothache in Millcreek
Honest answer first: the office is not open on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, and it closes at 5:00 PM Monday through Wednesday and at noon on Thursday. What stays covered around the clock is the phone. Outside office hours the number rings through to a live answering service, which records your name, your number and your symptoms and reserves the first opening. If the pain starts Saturday, that opening is Monday at 8:00 AM. If it starts Tuesday night, it's Wednesday morning.
Three situations shouldn't wait for us. Facial swelling on the move, upward near the eye or downward along the jaw and neck. Trouble breathing or swallowing. Bleeding that keeps going after steady pressure. For those, Millcreek residents should go to St. Mark's Hospital on 1200 East near 3900 South, the closer hospital emergency room. Emergency rooms in Utah handle spreading infection, facial injuries and uncontrolled bleeding, but they don't pull teeth or do root canals. Call us about the tooth afterward.
What an emergency dental visit costs for Millcreek patients
When no insurance is involved, $99 covers the exam and the single X-ray. After our dentists know what's wrong, they write up the treatment price and hand it to you. Nothing is started until you've read it and said yes.
Our in-network list has four major dental plans on it; see the cost and insurance page for the names. If your plan is one of the four, the exam and X-ray go straight to the plan. If it isn't, you're probably out of network, and we file the claim on your behalf anyway. Cash, credit cards, CareCredit financing and credit union financing for larger treatments all work for the treatment itself. Splitting a larger bill into payments is possible in some cases; mention it on the call.

Emergency dental services for Millcreek families
Our dentists handle the full run of dental emergencies in this one office. A tooth that throbs with every heartbeat gets toothache relief that starts with a diagnosis. Swelling in the gum or cheek points to a dental abscess, which is drained and treated here. A molar that cracked at dinner may need an emergency root canal or, if it's split too deep, an emergency tooth extraction. A broken or chipped tooth after a fall at the Millcreek Common rink is rebuilt with bonding, a filling or a crown. If a tooth is knocked out entirely, keep it moist and come straight down 700 East.
See the service area page for the other seven neighborhoods we cover, including Sugar House and Holladay next door.
Frequently asked questions
Will Millcreek callers get a same-day appointment?
Yes, provided the office is open when you call: Monday through Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Thursday until noon. We don't accept walk-ins, so call (385) 480-0270 before leaving home; the room is set up by the time you reach the end of 700 East.
It's Sunday and my crown fell off in Millcreek. What now?
Call anyway. Someone real answers, takes down your details and reserves Monday's 8:00 AM opening. Drop the crown into a small bag, keep food on the opposite side, and rinse gently. The lost filling or crown page explains what to do until then.
Which hospital should a Millcreek patient use for facial swelling?
St. Mark's Hospital, on 1200 East near 3900 South, is the closer emergency room for most of Millcreek. Go there for swelling that spreads toward your eye or neck, trouble breathing or swallowing, or bleeding that won't stop. Then call us to treat the tooth.
