Emergency Dentist Near Holladay, 6 to 10 Minutes West on Murray Holladay Road

One road connects Holladay to our office. Murray Holladay Road turns into 4430 South and then 4500 South as it heads west, and we're on it, a block east of State Street, about three miles from Holladay City Hall. That works out to six to ten minutes when traffic behaves. Before you leave, call (385) 480-0270; that's how our dentists hold a same-day slot and get a room set up for your arrival.

For patients without insurance, the emergency exam plus the X-ray is $99.

The $99 emergency exam fee is for patients paying without insurance. It covers a limited, problem-focused emergency exam and the X-ray needed to diagnose the tooth. Treatment is priced separately and quoted to you in writing before any work starts.

The eastern benches add a few minutes. From Olympus High School, Olympus Hills Park or the 2300 East corridor, figure the upper end of the range, especially on a snowy morning.

Same-day emergency dental care for Holladay patients

We keep same-day appointments open for emergencies during office hours, which are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Thursday mornings only, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The front desk answers, asks what's going on, and holds a time that day. Walk-ins aren't accepted. Phoning ahead is what lines up a room and a dentist, so you aren't sitting in a lobby.

Outside those hours your call lands with a live answering service. They jot down your name, your number and the symptoms, then hold the first opening on the next office day. The same-day dentist page explains how "today" works, including on a Thursday afternoon.

Once you're in the chair, our dentists look over the tooth, take the X-ray, and tell you plainly what it shows. Treatment that can be done that day usually is.

What to do about a weekend or evening toothache in Holladay

The office is closed Friday through Sunday, and after 5:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and after noon on Thursday. The phone, though, is answered 24/7. Whatever hour you call, a real person records your details and holds the first opening; after a weekend that's Monday at 8:00 AM.

Skip the wait and head for a hospital emergency room if any of these show up:

  • swelling that's spreading upward near your eye or downward into your neck
  • breathing or swallowing that's becoming difficult
  • bleeding that steady pressure won't stop

For Holladay, the closer hospital is St. Mark's Hospital on 1200 East near 3900 South. Utah's emergency rooms treat spreading infection, facial injuries and bleeding that won't stop; pulling teeth and root canals aren't on their list. Afterward, call us about the tooth.

What an emergency dental visit costs for Holladay patients

On your own dime, the exam and X-ray total $99. Treatment gets its own line, written out and placed in your hand before anyone picks up an instrument.

We're in network with four major dental plans. The cost and insurance page names them. When yours is on that list, we bill the plan directly for the exam and X-ray; when it isn't, you're likely out of network, and we send the claim in for you. Cash, credit cards and CareCredit financing cover treatment, with credit union financing for larger treatments. A larger bill can sometimes be broken into payments; ask about it when you call.

Emergency dental services for Holladay families

All of these are done in our 4500 South office. Toothache relief here means a diagnosis first, then treatment of the cause. Before it spreads, a dental abscess gets drained and treated. A deep crack may call for an emergency root canal, which saves the tooth, or an emergency tooth extraction when saving it isn't realistic. A sore back tooth is often wisdom tooth pain, treated here too. A fall on ice that leaves you with a broken or chipped tooth ends with bonding, a filling or a crown, and a knocked-out tooth can sometimes go back in, provided it stays moist and gets to us fast.

The service area page lists Holladay with the other seven areas we cover. Millcreek and Cottonwood Heights, your neighbors on either side, each have their own page.

Frequently asked questions

No. We're closed Saturday and Sunday. Call anyway: a live answering service logs your details and holds Monday's 8:00 AM opening. Spreading swelling, trouble swallowing or bleeding that won't stop means St. Mark's Hospital on 1200 East, not a wait until Monday.

A tooth got knocked out at Holladay Park. What should I do on the drive?

Handle it by the white chewing part only, never the root, and keep it moist in milk or tucked in your cheek. Call us as you leave so a dentist is ready, then come west on Murray Holladay Road. From Holladay Park the drive runs six to ten minutes.
