About Emergency Dentist in Salt Lake City

Emergency Dentist in Salt Lake City is a dental office on 4500 South in the Murray area that does one kind of work: urgent dental care, on a same-day basis, for people who call (385) 480-0270 with a tooth that can't wait. We opened in 2025 at 622 E 4500 South Ste 103, Salt Lake City, UT 84107, a block east of State Street.

The $99 emergency exam fee is for patients paying without insurance. It covers a limited, problem-focused emergency exam and the X-ray needed to diagnose the tooth. Treatment is priced separately and quoted to you in writing before any work starts.

Who we are

Our dentists are licensed in Utah and treat every patient who comes through the door themselves. There's no handoff to another office. The same team that answers the phone, takes the X-ray and explains the diagnosis is the team that does the treatment.

Hallway of a bright, modern dental office in Salt Lake City

Because the practice is built around emergencies, the schedule is built around them too. Rather than fitting a toothache into a day full of other appointments, we keep same-day times open and fill them by phone as calls come in.

What we treat

Toothaches, abscesses and swelling, cracked and chipped teeth, wisdom tooth pain, knocked-out teeth, lost fillings and crowns, emergency root canals, and simple and surgical extractions. That's the full list, and each one has its own page on this site; the same-day dentist page links to all of them. This is an emergency-only office, and the services above are the ones our dentists provide.

For patients who are anxious about dental work, nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral sedation are available; say so on the phone so the visit is planned around it.

Hours and how same-day appointments work

Chairside hours are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Thursday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The office is closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Phones are answered 24/7: by our front desk while we're open, and by a live answering service at all other times, which logs the call and keeps the next office morning's first opening for you (after a weekend, that's Monday at 8:00 AM). Walk-ins aren't accepted. Call ahead, and a chair and a dentist will be waiting for you.

For swelling that spreads toward the eye or neck, trouble breathing or swallowing, or bleeding that won't stop, go to the nearest emergency room first. Intermountain Medical Center on State Street at 5300 South is about 2 miles south of us. Call once you're stable and we'll handle the tooth.

Cost, insurance and payment

Every visit follows the same sequence: exam and X-ray, diagnosis, written price, then treatment. Patients without insurance are charged $99 for that exam and X-ray. We are in network with Delta Dental Premier, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Utah, SelectHealth and Cigna, and most other dental plans are out of network, with the claim submitted for you. Cash and credit cards are accepted, and CareCredit financing and credit union financing for larger treatments are available. The cost and insurance page, linked here, carries the remaining details, financing among them.

Where we are

The office sits on the south side of 4500 South between State Street and 700 East, with parking on site. We're a short drive from Murray Park and the Murray North TRAX station, about 2 miles east of I-15, and within 15 minutes of Millcreek, Holladay, Cottonwood Heights and the rest of the central valley. Directions and a map are on the contact page.
